Femke Bol in action during the FBK Games 2025
Femke Bol comes to FBK Games on Pentecost Monday
Femke Bol is coming to Hengelo for the 44th edition of the FBK Games. On Pentecost Monday, 9th June, the figurehead of Dutch athletics will compete in her favorite discipline, the 400-meter hurdles. The 25-year-old crowd favorite has piled success upon success in recent years. She took home all colors of Olympic medals from Paris last year. She also broke the world record three times in the 400-meter indoor, won gold medals at World and European Championships and crowned victor in the Diamond League in the 400-meter hurdles four years in a row.
"I will be running the FBK Games in Hengelo again this year, but now in the 400m hurdles! I am really looking forward to running my favorite distance in front of my home crowd," says Femke.
“We are of course very proud that Femke is participating in Hengelo again”, says meeting director Ellen van Langen of Global Sports Communication. “What she has achieved in recent years is incredible. I think Hengelo is a great benchmark for her on the way to the highlight of this summer, the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September”.
Femke Bol is the first name announced after ticket sales started.
“Now that the indoor season has ended at the end of March, the focus of the Dutch top athletes is fully on the summer season”, explains meeting director Hans Kloosterman. “The European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn have once again shown that Dutch track athletics are doing incredibly well. It is striking that the successes achieved are spread out over the various disciplines. For the FBK Games, we will of course try to get as many of these successful athletes as possible to the start. With Femke Bol as the first ‘headliner’, we are making a flying start”.
This year in the main programme of the FBK Games 2025:
Men: 100m, 400m, 800m, 110m hurdles, long jump, pole vault and discus.
Women: 200m, 800m, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 3000m steeplechase, high jump and shot put.
