Femke Bol to FBK Games

Dutch sprint sensation Femke Bol takes part in FBK Games on June 4th in Hengelo!

None other than Femke Bol will be at the start of the FBK Games on Sunday June 4th in Hengelo. The 23-year-old athlete competes on the 400 meters. This is the same distance on which she pulverized the ancient 1982 indoor track world record last weekend.

The success story of Femke Bol from Amersfoort, The Netherlands received a huge boost when she won two gold medals on the 400 meters and with her teammates on the 4x400 meters during the 2021 European Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland. In the summer of that year, she took a bronze Olympic medal on the 400 meters hurdles in Tokyo. Since then there has been no stopping Bol. Last year she won three silver medals at the world indoor and outdoor championships, and a unique gold trilogy at the European Championships on the 400 meters, 400 meters hurdles and 4x400 meters. This indoor season she again broke several records: She achieved Dutch records on the 200 and 400 meters, the best world performance of all time on the 500 meters and of course the brand new world record on the 400 meters.

Femke Bol: “I am very excited to be at the start of the FBK Games again this year. This time even without hurdles, just like my first time running in the main program. Can't wait to run again in a full stadium in the Netherlands with the help of my Dutch fans.”

Ellen van Langen (meeting director): “We are very happy to announce Femke's participation in the FBK Games. After her unique performance and world record during the NK indoor, we would like to see her run a 400m in Hengelo. She will be very selective in running the 400m this year and we are therefore very happy that she chose Hengelo for the 400m.”
