Femke Broeders-Bol to compete at the FBK Games for her very first 800m race on Dutch soil
Very first 800m race on Dutch soil
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, she will be competing at the 45th edition of the FBK Games in Hengelo: Femke Broeders-Bol. This time, she will line up for the 800 meters, a new discipline in which she aims to show the same dominance as in the 400-meter hurdles, 400 meters, and the 4x400-meter relay.
That she can make an immediate impact at this distance was already evident in early February. On the indoor track in Metz, France, she ran her very first 800 meters ever and immediately recorded a promising Dutch indoor record of 1:59.07.
The performances of the 26-year-old crowd favorite are impressive across the board. With medals of every color—gold, silver, and bronze—at both the World Championships in Tokyo and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, she belongs to the absolute world elite. Indoors, she has also broken the world record in the 400 meters three times, and in the Diamond League she remained unbeaten in the 400-meter hurdles for five consecutive years.
