Lieke Klaver to Compete in the 200 Meters at the FBK Games
European Indoor Champion 'Really Looking Forward to Hengelo'
Lieke Klaver will line up for the 44th edition of the FBK Games on Whit Monday, June 9, in Hengelo. The 26-year-old athlete will compete in the 200 meters.
"I'm really excited to be at the FBK Games again this year," says Klaver. "Friends, family, and of course so many Dutch fans will be there – it’s always special."
“With Lieke, we have the European Indoor Champion on the starting list – one of the major Dutch stars. That’s fantastic for the event,” says meeting director Ellen van Langen of Global Sports Communication.
"Femke Bol, Niels Laros, and now also Lieke Klaver – the lineup of top Dutch athletes competing in Hengelo is taking shape. And surely more will follow. The orange atmosphere in last year’s sold-out FBK stadium was unique. With this lineup, I believe something special will happen again," adds meeting director Hans Kloosterman.
Before 2025, Klaver collected numerous gold medals in relay events, including Olympic gold in the mixed relay in Paris, two World Championship titles, and four European titles. Every year she gets faster. Klaver excels not only in the 400 meters but also in the 100, 200, and 4x100 meters, often combining multiple events at major championships. In total, she has reached the podium at European and World Championships 17 times. In 2022 and 2023, Klaver and the women’s 4x400 relay team were named Dutch Sports Team of the Year.
Ticket sales are on track for a sold-out stadium, with 60% of tickets already sold. Get your ticket now and make sure you don’t miss it!
