Nadine Visser will also be competing at the FBK Games in Hengelo
Nadine Visser: “I can’t wait to run fast again in front of the home crowd!”
Nadine Visser will also be competing at the 45th edition of the FBK Games in Hengelo on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The 31-year-old hurdler is the silver medalist at both the World Indoor Championships and the European Indoor Championships in the 60 metres hurdles, and last year she made enormous progress in the event she will compete in at Hengelo: the 100 metres hurdles. With her personal best of 12.28 seconds, she belongs to the absolute world elite.
Nadine Visser: “In 2024, I broke the Dutch record again after a long time, and in 2025 I won the FBK Games for the first time, so I can’t wait to continue this great streak and run fast again in front of the home crowd!”
“It’s wonderful that Nadine is returning to Hengelo for the 100 metres hurdles,” says meeting director Ellen van Langen of organizer Global Sports Communication. “She has been competing in every Olympic Games, World Championships and European Championships final for more than ten years and she just keeps getting faster. In March, she even won silver at the World Indoor Championships in the Polish city of Toruń. Given the incredibly high level of competition, that may well have been one of her greatest performances ever.”
“Nadine has been part of the absolute world elite in the 100 metres hurdles for years. Last year she improved her personal best to 12.28 seconds, faster than the FBK Games meeting record of 12.39 seconds, which is held by former Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn,” says meeting director Hans Kloosterman. “How great would it be if Nadine could follow up last year’s victory with a new meeting record? In any case, it’s fantastic that she will be there again.”
Since 2015, Visser has achieved no fewer than ten top-eight finishes in finals at the Olympic Games and World Championships. Initially as a heptathlete, and from 2017 onwards mainly as a hurdler. Indoors, she won bronze in the 60 metres hurdles in 2018 and silver this year. At the European Indoor Championships, she has won gold twice and silver twice. Last year, she also impressed as the lead-off runner in the Dutch 4x100 metres relay team, helping set a national record and one of the fastest times in the world that year.
Last month, we already announced world champion shot putter Jessica Schilder and 400 metres runner Lieke Klaver as the first two Dutch stars who will compete in Hengelo. In the coming weeks, we will announce which other athletes will also participate.
