Reggeborgh Foundation and the FBK Games strengthen collaboration to further develop the para athletics program.

Reggeborgh Foundation and the FBK Games are strengthening their collaboration to further develop the para athletics programme. In the lead-up to the FBK Games on 21 June 2026, they met with para-athletes and the national coach to discuss how the programme can continue to grow.

Among those present were Paralympic and world champion shot putter Lara Baars and World Championships silver medallist in long jump Kiki Hendriks. Together, they engaged in an open discussion about the future of para athletics within the FBK Games.

During the interactive session, athletes shared their experiences and ideas on how to further enhance their competition experience, the experience of the audience, and the visibility of para athletics. Topics ranged from strengthening the field of participants and increasing visibility to providing clearer explanations for the audience about the different classifications. The insights from the discussion will be taken into account by the FBK organisation and the national coach in the preparations for the FBK Games on 21 June and for future editions of the event.

Through this collaboration, Reggeborgh Foundation and the FBK Games aim to give para-athletes the stage they deserve. Ellen van Langen, Meeting Director of the FBK Games, said:
"Including Paralympic events in our programme during the previous edition of the FBK Games was a great success. The collaboration with Reggeborgh Foundation and the inspiration of the para-athletes make us enthusiastic to further expand the para athletics programme."

Together, they are building a programme that empowers athletes, brings the audience closer to the sport, and contributes to the continued growth of para athletics.
